The Effect Mechanism of Communication Modes on Team Performance: Team Trust as the Mediator

摘要：

The focus of this paper is the effect mechanism of communication modes on team trust. Drawing on resource dilemma to simulate teams task, we conducted an experiment with 30 teams, each of which was made up of four college students. It is found that the mode in which virtual teams communicate is a crucial factor influencing team trust and performance. The trust and performance are highest in net mode, midst in layer mode, and lowest in sequence mode. The trust strategic behaviors have mediated the effects of communication mode on performance.
