Analysis of Essential Characteristics of Responsibility-Type Organizations

The organizational transformation in the post-industrial stage shows that the authority mechanism faces more difficulties and obstacles when coordinating organization members under the condition of highly degree of labor division. In a new responsibility-type organization, the responsibility mechanism is adopted to drive every process link in order to realize synergetic effect based on common goals. In this paper, case studies are made to discuss the essential characteristics that distinguish responsibility-type organizations from traditional authority-type ones, which include 3 aspects: the connotation of the Principle of Authority with Corresponding Responsibility is changed, responsibilities root in organizational existence and organizational responsibilities are transferred via processes to achieve synergetic effect under the condition of high degree of labor division.
