Cracks in the Glass Ceiling—Studies on Progressing of Women Workforce
Despite growing numbers of women in employment in recent years, the rate of progression of women to senior management level remains low in all countries. It looks as if an invisible barrier is keeping women from reaching the top jobs, a barrier that has come to be known as the glass ceiling. The paper first analyses the causes for the glass ceiling effect, then gives some suggestions as to how to help womens progression into senior manager positions.
