Factors Affecting the Quality of Post-internship of Higher Vocational Education

The quality of post-internship of higher vocational education has always been a concern for educators and administrators. It is unclear, however, what factors play roles in determining the improvement of the quality of civil engineering students. Limited research into this area has been undertaken in China. This study, therefore, was designed to investigate the factors associated with quality in civil engineering students. A validated and reliable selfadministered questionnaire developed by the investigators was used in the study. The sample consisted of 30 students, 10 teachers and 10 supervisors. Notably, 12%, 16%, 24%, 32% and 6% reported that teacher, supervisor, environment, student and management has influence on the quality of post-internship respectively. These results suggest that both educators and administrators need to reconsider the way students are trained, and indicate that strategies must be developed to bring teacher, supervisor, students and enterprises initiative into full play.
