Fuel Consumption Statistics Model for Passenger Vehicles in China
Obtaining vehicular information in the public transportation sector is relatively easier than the privately owned corporations. Many corporations do not provide statistics services, which causes lacking of reliable fuel consumption information for the industry. It is a challenge for the national administrative agencies to conduct the statistical analyses. To resolve the issue, we developed a statistical model to forecast the gross fuel consumption with the available data. It is a multiple linear regression model with fuel consumption as dependent variable. The results showed that it is more reliable than the currently used models in the industry.
