Construct Retailer Synthetic Value Chain Based on Customer Value: An Ezploratory Study

Considering the activity characteristics of retailer and retail business, this paper pointed out that the retailers total offering is a hybrid composed of goods and services based on customer value. Thus, the retail value chain is neither the industry value chain found by Poter, nor the service-profit chain proposed by Heskett and others, but the synthetic value chain. This paper described it in detail and discussed its management significance to retail business.
