Relief Work of Wenchuan Earthquake and Post-quake Recovery(Lafarge cement plants: Dujiangyan and Jiangyou)

摘要：

Located adjacent to the epicenter, the three plants of SCBU (DJY, JYP & Power Plant) were heavily damaged by the devastating Wenchuan earthquake, which was measured at 8 on Richter magnitude scale, on May 12, 2008 in Sichuan province of China. This resulted in the total suspension of production in the three plants. Most of the survivors of the plants were left homeless, losing family members, friends, housing, and properties. With the timely aid from Chinese government, Lafarge and SCBU Excom carried out the efficient rescue operation for the survivors, and accomplished the recovery of production 6 months later.
