Strong Earthquake Activity and Its Effects to Induce Tsunami Hazards in South China Sea

The object of this study is to quantitatively examine sensitivity of the tsunami wave heights and its arrival time in the coastal area of the Southeast China on the tsunami source parameters. The generation and propagation of tsunami are simulated numerically, while the Manila Trench was identified as the most hazardous tsunami source region in South China Sea. We focus on the effects of the earthquake magnitude deviations on the tsunami wave heights and its arrival times. The results will be capable of offering tsunami wave heights and arrival times as well as their sensitivity feature.
