Analysis of Tabascos flooding by applying the SDMS model

The Tabascos flooding disaster occurred on November 2007 and it has been regarded as one of the worst that has hit the region in more than 50 years. It is believed that 80% of the State has been flooded and more than one million people were left homeless. The paper addresses the issue of what can be learned from past natural disasters such as the case of Tabasco. The developed Systemic Disaster Management System (SDMS) model has been used to analyze the disaster. A number of failures have been highlighted by the model.
