MODELING OF PLANTS AND ITS APPLICATION TO LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE
Shape of plant has been modeled by many researchers and the quality of the model and its output of computer graphics have been also progressed in recent 30 years. In this article, theories of plant modeling and botanical approach are reviewed. One of the important application areas of plant modeling is landscape architecture. With development of plant modeling, quality of landscape simulation has been also progressed. Recent progress enables real-time rendering of the landscape. As an example of walk-through simulation, techniques of visualization by using VRML and landscape simulation on Google Earth are shown.
