The droplet detection technology based on image processing
The work presented in this paper is to evaluate the droplet size distribution by image processing. The traces of the captured droplet on water-sensitive papers were detected by a camera and then sent for segment and evaluation by a specially developed program. An improved GLV algorithm was raised in this study to separate the conglutinated droplets and compute their size data comparing to the discrete droplets. Comparison experiments were conducted by measuring the droplet size distribution by a laser particle size analyzer. The evaluation showed the error that comparing the results given by image process to that from laser analyzer was less than 6%.
