Machine Vision in Automatic Navigation System of Agricultural Machinery—Recent Development and Future Perspective

Automatic navigation of agricultural machinery is not only a way to liberate the driver from monotonous, repetitive and high intensity of labor, but also a way to improving the accuracy of operation, avoiding over lapping or leaving out, and then to increase productivity. Automatic navigation by machine vision is popular in automatic navigation research area for its flexibility. This paper presents an overview on recent development of machine vision automatic navigation system, discusses the system hardware component and the positioning method, finally, discusses the future development on machine vision automatic navigation system of agricultural machinery.
