A planar monopole antenna design for UWB applications
A planar antenna is designed for ultra-wideband applications in this paper.A circular patch as a radiating element printed on a dielectric substrate with relative permittivity of 2.65, thickness of lmm, and fed by a 50 Ω microstrip line.A gradual changing structure is designed in the bottom of the floor to improve the impedance bandwidth.Simulated and tested results show the proposed antenna can meet the ultra-wideband (UWB) bandwidth requirement of 3.1-10.6GHz.The antenna has a steady-state gain, and omni-directional radiation patterns among the working frequency.
