The Network Analysis of CEO Compensation in China
This paper analyzes CEO network of listed companies in China in 2005. After a brief review of corporate network studies, we take advantage of the recent advances in the theoretical and methodological tools for analyzing network structure to examine the network properties of CEO in 2005. We use concepts from small-world analysis to explain our finding. We find that (1) there is a striking small-world effect in CEO network in China; (2) there is not some CEO affecting the whole network, and each CEO has no absolute control on other CEOs.
