Inter-firm Virtual Integration: The Ezplaining Based on Network Structurization
Virtual integration theory is an interdisciplinary theory which studies on the structure and behavior of the inter-firm relationship in the networks black box. The paper discusses the defect of the existing theory from the aspects of the analytical unit and analytical tools firstly. Then the paper explains the virtual integration theory by using the relational structure among the leader, complementor and wannabes as analytical unit and the power exercising of the leader enterprise in the chain-network-network as analytical tool. Furthermore the paper compares the traditional theory and the virtual integration theory from hypothesis and focal points, and provides a train of thought for further study on the virtual integration theory.
