Prevention of musculoskeletal disorders at assembly workplaces
This study shows the results of a survey of employees working at assembly workplaces in order to get to know the current work situation as well as health problems and musculoskeletal disorders. For the intervention part of the study an ergonomically designed workplace was created where it was possible to work in a standing and sitting position. The assembly workplace was deployed in six different companies. It was investigated if the employees take advantage of the ergonomic possibilities of the assembly workplace and if they improve their behaviour toward a healthy dynamic standing and sitting. Shortly after the introduction, the results showed that the preventive measures were accepted by only 27％ of the tested employees.
