A 2-D Intervention Model for the Assimilation of Participatory Ergonomics

We introduce a 2-D model developed as a tool for assimilation of participatory ergonomics in the industry. The model serves as a guiding framework and was developed based on an extensive assessment of our past interventions and on current literature. Implementation and testing of the model in the industry revealed that it reduced intervention time by 50% while still providing a clear and stable organizing framework which is flexible enough to employ in different factories and organizational processes. We suggest that the model has a twofold value both for factories that can efficiently implement an ergonomic approach and improvements in a reasonable time period and for ergonomics consultants who can utilize the model to construct, direct and focus the intervention.
