Replay Activity for Distributed Team

With the application of CVEs in distributed team, replaying by embedded technology is supposed to promote asynchronous collaboration. The present study was trying to provide an experimental comparison of 2D text and 3D animation presentation modes for such replaying. Two scenarios were designed to represent different types of activities (collaborative one and individual one) in team collaboration. In the experiment, past activities of the team are presented by 3D animation, comparing to presentation by 2D text. Information recall, self-awareness and user evaluation were measured in the experiment to evaluate the effectiveness of presentation. The results show that animation and text did not differ much in presenting historical activity of distributed team in either scenario. In some items, text reflected advantages. The effectiveness of replaying by 3D was not as strong as our expected; the presentation approach should be modified according to different needs.
