Ergonomics Contribution for a New Concept in a Workstation in the Control Room in a Motor Assay Room
The study was intended to provide elements obtained from the analysis of current work in a Control Room to be utilized in the development of a new monitoring post to be used in product testing. The study involved interviews with engineers involved in the design of the new monitoring post and the operators addressing the advantages and limits of the current project. Workers operating modes, commentaries and deployments in real time were also recorded. Results indicated greater time spent by workers in the Control Room as compared to other areas of the laboratory. The amount of worker deployment was found to be related to the type of product evaluated by the operator of the engine performance test. The studys findings influenced the design of the future monitoring post.
