The Challenge of Integrating a New Tool for Organization-wide and Shared Risk Management
Risk management is an important part of an organizations evaluation of its performance. Under such circumstances, the strategic level of the organization is responsible for risk management. At the operative level, the organization must deal with actual work risks concerned mainly with safety and accident risks. It is important to integrate risk management into daily work at each level of the organization independently. It is also important to integrate risk management into the organization as a whole as a shared issue to ensure the continuity and fluency of the basic tasks of the organization. The aim of our paper is to describe and analyse what is needed in connection with the strategic and operational levels in order to achieve organization-wide risk management. Firstly, there must be a suitable tool for this purpose and, when the tool is used, a common language is needed in the organization. After the risks are identified, it is important to decide what actions are needed at specific levels of the hierarchy.
