Research on the Technology of Product Creative Generative Design Driven by Style Evolution

Aiming at the style evolution phenomenon and the product creative design problem, the synchronic and diachronic evolution mode of product style is emerged. Combined with the mode and the modern genetics theory, the definition of product style gene (PSG) is developed. Then on the basis of the parametrical expression of product form, as an example of automotive, the PSG with the genetic information is extracted and represented by Principle Component Analysis and shape grammar respectively. Furthermore, the creative generative design (GD) technology of product style is explored through the GD frame integrated with Orthogonal Genetic Algorithms. Finally, a prototype system for the automotive is implemented to demonstrate the effectiveness and the practicality.
