Human factors related to the productivity of the chainsaw operator
This study was carried out in eucalypt plantations of a forest company in Brazil. There were evaluated 67 chainsaw operators working in clear-cutting activities. The main objective of the study was to identify the human factors with more influence in the productivity of the chainsaw operators. There were also evaluated the job satisfaction of the workers. The methodology included interviews, measurements, time and motions study and tests. Two statistical computer programs were used in the analysis, the SAEG (Genetics and Statistic Analysis System) and the SAS (Statistical Analysis System) to identify the independent variables with more influence in the productivity of the chainsaw workers. In the analysis of regression was realized that the productivity was explained (48.28%) by two independent variables in 5%: Age of the worker and Number of recycled trainings. Younger chainsaw operators had more productivity than more aged workers. The operators that had more recycled trainings had also better productivity.
