Computer Workstation For Student With Cerebral Palsy Empheses on Adjustable Table and Split Keyboard

The study on computer workstation for student with cerebral palsy was conducted as an initial stage investigation disability centre in Malaysia. The objective of the study is to provide design criteria in designing a conducive and productive learning workstation by the implementing of Assistive Technology emphases on table and split keyboard. Anthropometric data of 34 normal students and 22 students with disabilities were measured and collected. The measurement included 10 static-body dimensions for seated workstation and collection of hand time movement. The statistical data are presented in 5th, 50th, 95th percentile. In general, the physical measurements are not much in difference between genders in each type of student but from analysis there have significant difference between normal and cerebral palsy student. From analysis data in collection of time movement, the result shows that normal student is better in reach task comparing to student with cerebral palsy. The table for computer is proposed refers to cerebral palsy student anthropometry data. Split keyboard which attached to the arm rest is highly suggested because of the difficulty of the student with cerebral palsy moved their hand.
