An Evaluation Method of Team Cooperative Communication Based on Task Analysis
Team communication, particularly verbal communication, plays an important role in sharing situation awareness and making appropriate decisions. Many methods for analyzing the relationships between team performance and team communication have been proposed; however they have only dealt with correlations between performance and communication in some specific contexts and have not directly identified bottlenecks of team cooperation. It is necessary therefore to develop such a method for evaluating team communication that is both task-independent and able to analyze the bottlenecks in team cooperation. In this study, an evaluation method of team communication based on task analysis is proposed and its availability is validated by an experiment. The results suggested that the new evaluation index named STF could identify bottlenecks of team cooperation in terms of task steps.
