Mechanical ezposure among general practice dentists in Sweden and possible implications of rationalization

The present study investigates dental work in terms of time consumption and mechanical exposure in value-adding and non-value-adding tasks, and estimates possible consequences of rationalization of dental work in terms of mechanical exposure. 24 dentists were investigated. The results suggest that further rationalization of the work by increasing the amount of the present types of value-adding tasks increases the risk for developing musculoskeletal disorders.
