Research on Visual Simulation System in CTCS3 Simulation and Test Platform

According to the plan of China Railway Ministry, Chinese Train Control System level 3 (CTCS3) will be used for high speed passenger dedicated line between Beijing and Shanghai in 2010.Therefore, it is quite necessary to establish a simulation and test platform to support the research and testing performance of CTCS3 system. And 3D visual simulation technology plays a very important role in strengthening the authenticity and reliability of CTCS3 simulation and test platform. In the paper, based on the cognitive characteristics and the visual identification features of human being, it was introduced that the design and implementation of visual simulation system in CTCS3 simulation and test platform. And it was discussed several key techniques and their solutions of the visual simulation system in detail, such as the intelligent technology to generate high speed railway network, the fast generation of line database, the viewpoint control based on the camera principle, the management and driven of complicated scenario based on visual identification features, the viewpoint dynamic switching, etc. The examples have proved the feasibility of the visual simulation system.
