Interphalangeal Osteoarthritis and Deformity induced Hand Tool Overuse

INTRODUCTION Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) became a hot issue in Korea since many workers reported the musculoskeletal disorder problems in manufacturing industry. Musculoskeletal disorders in upper limb, especially in hand, have been frequently observed in workers in toggle process of leather product manufacturing. The aim of this study was to describe the prevalence and characteristics of interphalangeal (IP) osteoarthritis (OA) of workers who work in toggle process and to investigate the association of the work through an ergonomic risk assessment on the toggle task.
