A web-site as a lever to reduce strain injuries among cleaners
Professional cleaners are known to have considerable musculoskeletal disorders due to physically heavy and strenuous working conditions. In a three year action programme the complexity of the causes of pain and strain injuries in professional cleaning have been studied. Based on the sub-studies of the programme the major causes of strain injuries were identified. A web-site has been developed to provide knowledge about the factors identified and for the actors that may contribute to reduce the workload for cleaners. The web-site contains for example video-clips as an introduction to good working technique, pages for cleaners and managers in cleaning companies with advises on crucial topics, demandes suitable for procurement of cleaning services and checklists for architects and interior designers.
