How to evaluate a working activity that has no limits Case Study with Community Health Agents (ACSs)

This article presents some elements for discussing evaluation based on ergonomics and the psychodynamics of work, considering the activity from the perspective of persons. Cases of workers active in a public health program in Brazil, i.e., the Programa Saúde da Família (PSF - Family Health Program) in Brazil will be discussed. The nature of the work done by Community Health Agents provides material for a rich and interesting discussion of work evaluation. One of its main characteristics is the confusion between working life and private life, time at work and time away from work, since the results of activities are hard to measure using the usual indicators. This is also a work without end.
