Introduction of Computer-Based Systems in Near Future Nuclear Power Plant Control Rooms. Ezperiences from a Small-Scale Empirical Study

The objective of this study was to obtain practical and useful input from operators with regard to how the introduction of new technology may affect work practices; defined in terms of communication, operator teams and roles, and information overview; in near future computer-based nuclear control rooms. Several advantages and challenges with the introduction of computer-based systems in control rooms were identified, and possible ways to handle challenges that could occur were also discussed.
