The knowledge and the skills of the OHS staff in process of occupational risk assessment

Employers legal duty to protect the safety and health of workers may be fulfilled in a number of ways. The prerogative is for the preventive and corrective measures they undertake and for information thereon to fit the actual needs and circumstances of their undertaking. This can be ensured by having occupational risks assessed by qualified individuals whose skills provide the assurance of objectivity. This article points out essential prerequisites for developing and assessing the competences, knowledge and skills needed at each stage of the occupational risk assessment process.
