Development and Application of a Composite Strain Indez Method for Multiple Task Jobs

This paper introduces a method to extend application of the Strain Index to multiple task jobs. A computational procedure for a Composite Strain Index (CSI), which mimics the Composite Lifting Index, was developed and applied among 733 workers. Results showed that the CSI was able to characterize hand/wrist job exposures and predicted carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) cases.
