PRODUCTION FLOW CONTROL IN AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY- QUICK SCAN APPROACH
Automotive industry is highly competitive. Manufacturers in order to fulfill on time customers orders for customized cars have to be able to effectively control very complex production process. Due to a big number of information coming from production system to production database regarding production flow, the people responsible for production planning and control are overloaded with information. The aim of the paper is to propose a method that might be applied for quick scan of production flow control in an assembly plant in conditions of process lead times uncertainty and delivery lead times uncertainty. Authors will present briefly the theoretical background of research and will discuss main problems that have appeared by analyses of the influence of uncertainty on manufacturing operations performance. The detailed description of the case study and numerical example will be provided. The potential applications and limitations of the method will be discussed.
Production planning and control disturbances uncertainty production databases.
