VALUED COMMUNICATION FOR COLLABORATIVE PRODUCTION
Collaborative productiion involves not only information exchange and alignment of activities, but also sharing resources for achieving the common goal. To reach the common goal of the collaborative companies relies on effective communication. The objective of this paper is to introduce a collaborative process for collaborative production with communication elements to developing generalizable principles of communication. By applying organizational communication theory as the basis to investigate the communication processes, communication principles are deduced. The principles include: (1) principle for organization relationship, (2) principle for information economics in communication, and (3) principle for communication effectiveness. The proposed communication principles provide a foundation for collaborative production companies to develop better inter-enterprise collaborative communication, which leads to a trust relationship, communication and cost effectiveness.
