MEASURING TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION

Technological Innovation (TI) is a process of acquiring new or improved capabilities, or improving the value of an existing service or product for customers. A three-level model for quantitatively measuring the extent and efficiency of the TI process in businesses is suggested. The proposed model was tested by implementing it in 25 industrial companies and service providers in the Galilee - the northern region of the State of Israel. Among others, indications of a positive connection between the extent and efficiency of the TI process and between its efficiency and revenue growth were found. On the other hand, it seems that it is not a given that an extensive TI process naturally leads to growth in revenue and market segment.
