SEQUENCING OF JOBS IN A CONWIP SYSTEM
This paper considers the loading of jobs in a flow line using a CONWIP system. It is shown that the sequence in which the jobs are processed is important in determining the optimal WIP level. A lower bound on the WIP level is developed, which can then be used to determine the desired (minimum) WIP level and the cyclic sequence in which to load the products so as to maximize throughput.
CONWIP flow line sequencing mazimize throughput.
