INVENTORY POLICIES UNDER TIME-VARING DEMAND
Probabilistic inventory models of multi-period have been studied and a method is searched provided demand is decreasing from period to period. The model investigated is a fundamental one and we take interest in the effect of changing demand on the inventory management. The models of multi-period with varying demand are set by varying a parameter of demand distribution in each period. However it remains difficulty to get the precise economic order quantity and it is not achieved because there are many cases in general situations. In this presentation the optimal policies are shown in inventory models of a few periods. Although a theoretical economic order quantity is proved to exist, the effective algorithm is not gotten in general since models are constructed by using dynamic programming. Under a few periods we attempt a generalization of a procedure to obtain it. Some examples are shown that are computed by making use of the computer software Mathematica
