COMPARATIVE STUDY ON THE DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF TWO-ECHELON SUPPLY CHAINS UNDER DIFFERENT MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES
Based on the Automatic Pipeline, Inventory and Order Based Production Control System(APIOBPCS), this paper establishes three two-echelon supply chain models using the discrete control engineering theory: traditional、demand information sharing and vendor managed inventory two-echelon supply chains. The transfer function models of the systems are developed using causal loop diagrams, block diagrams, differential equations and z-transforms. On this basis, the dynamic responses of the three systems to customer demand in form of step input are analyzed. As the system parameters change, the performances of the three supply chains are compared, as well as the fluctuations of order quantity, work in process and inventory. Through the comparative study, valuable insights of supply chains are obtained, and then managerial decision-making recommendations are given.
