TERNARY ORDINAL QUALITY DATA: INTERPRETATION AND PROCESS CONTROL
The article considers measuring and control quality estimated on a ternary ordinal scale basis (low, medium, high). A proposed method of evaluating quality level and dispersion is free of any latent numerical scale assumptions. When working with large samples, estimation and control by use of approximate analytical expressions of these measures can be considerably simplified. Two complementary studies demonstrate the usage of the proposed approach.
