MONITORING FOR GRINDING WHEEL STATE BASED ON MULTI-SENEOR FUSION
In order to analyze the corresponding relationship between grinding force signals, acoustic emission (AE) signals and grinding wheel states under different grinding parameters, a system composed of dynamometer and AE sensor was developed to monitor the grinding process in this paper. By frequency spectrum and power spectrum analysis of grinding force, wavelet analysis of AE signals, this method can be achieved to monitor the grinding wheel dull effectively under different grinding conditions. The results showed that the grinding force signals appeared corresponding regular changes under different depth of cut, workpiece speed and wheel dull degree, and the mean value or root mean square value of AE signals can be used to determine the wheel dull degree effectively. Furthermore, it can overcome the limitation of the method that only can monitor grinding force signal amplitude and can not monitor grinding wheel dull under grinding conditions by using power spectrum analysis of grinding force.
