Time-delay Process Multivariable Model Predictive Function Control for Basis Weight & Moisture Content Control System
In paper-making process Basis weight and moisture content are the two most important control variables which directly determine the performance indexes of finished paper sheet. In Accordance with the two variables properties of strong coupling, nonlinearity, uncertainty and especially large time delay, a novel method to the model of first order with time delay which is based on Multivariable predictive functional control algorithm is proposed to apply to the basis weight and moisture content control system. The predictive control algorithm depends little upon predictive model and provides feedback modification and local roll optimization which can obtain good control indexes. And the simulation results of the basis weight and moisture content control system demonstrate the responsibility, stability and accuracy of this algorithm as well as robustness in the case of changes of control parameter or operating conditions. And practices prove that the control system can satisfy the requirements of paper-making process.
