CaCO3-Templated Microcapsules to Carry Heparin via Layer-by-layer Self-assembly.
This study aimed to prepare polyelectrolyte multilayer microcapsules by layerby layer self-assembling of charged HEP on CaCO3 microspheres. The LBL self-assembly process was monitored by zeta potential analyzer. Scanning electron microscope (SEM), Laser Particle Size Analyzer, fluorescence microscope was used to characterize microparticles and microcapsules. The results indicated that the microparticles were 5 μm in size and monodispersed. The surface of microparticles was porous. Negatively charged heparin molecules loaded into the caco3 microparticles spontaneously and efficiently due to porous microcapsules. And the microcapsules have good biology compatibility. It is suggested that these microcapsules may provide effective tools for carrying drug molecules.
