Effect of Veratrum nigrum L.Var. ussurience Nakai alkaloids on ezpression of ICAM-1 and E-selection in lung injury induced by hepatic ischemia/reperfusion in rats
we investigate the protective effects of VnA against lung injury induced by hepatic ischemia/reperfusion and its possible mechanism in rats. Forty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into control group, hepatic ischemia reperfusion group, low and high dose VnA pretreatment group. Hepatic I/R reduce lung injury characterized by histological changes and lung water content increasing. VnA pretreatment at doses of 10 and 20μg/kg could attenuate lung injury induced by hepatic I/R, indicated by improved alteration of lung tissue pathology and lung water content level, by enhanced antioxidant capacity with augmentation of free radical scavengers and reduced polymorphonuclear neutrophil (PMN) infiltration, as well as by suppressed overexpressions of adhesion molecules and selectins. VnA pretreatment provided significant protection against hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury for the rats lung.
