Study on the Coal Combustion and Desulfurization Catalyzed by Nano- additives
The effects of nano-TiO2 dosage, Ca/S and temperature on CaO desulfurization and coal combustion were studied. The products were characterized by SEM and IR analysis. The catalysis mechanisms of nano-TiO2 were discussed. The results show that desulfurization efficiency was 87.7% when nano-TiO2 dosage is 6%, Ca/S 2, temperature 850℃; it was 16.8% higher than that without addition. The ignition temperature, the burnout temperature and apparent activation energy of bituminous decreased 3℃, 8℃ and 2.9kJ/mol by nano-TiO2 with CaO addition respectively. The pore diameter and surface area of coal ashes with nano-TiO2 addition increase because of the active centers of nano-TiO2 surface; this is helpful to the diffusion and reaction of SO2 and O2, and the desulphurization and coal combustion efficiency increase. The results may be used to provide a useful basis for further applying nano-TiO2 additive in power plant.
