Effects of calcium sulfite on retarding of cement
The retarding effect of CaSO3·0.5H2O in cement is of great importance to if semidry desulfurization ash can replace gypsum in the utilization of cement. The aim of this paper was to inquire the extent of natural gypsum replacement by CaSO3·0.5H2O.CaSO3·0.5H2O or CaSO4·2H2O were ground with clinker to examing the setting time, soundness and bending strength and compressive strength of different period of cement. And the micrographs and structure of the hydraction production formed in the hydracted cement were investigated by SEM and X-ray Diffraction. The results show that the hydrated product of cement which mixed with CaSO4·2H2O contains ettringite(Aft),while the hydrated product of cement which mixed with CaSO3·0.5H2O contains C3A·CaSO4·12H2O(AFm). The result also confirm that CaSO4·2H2O can be replaced with CaSO3·0.5H2O up to 2% by mass. And the setting time, soundness, compressive strength and bending strength of cement have achieved the requirement of national standards(GB175-2007).
