Effects of Di-(2-ethylhezyl) Phthalate on Root Tips of Vicia faba Seedlings
In order to explore the effects of di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) on Seed and growth of seedling of Vicia faba. Root-tip of Vicia faba was exposed to different concentrations (0.01, 0.1, 1, 10 mg·mL-1) of DEHP, it was carried out to investigate the effects of DEHP on micronucleus (MCN) rate and DNA polymorphism of Vicia faba. The results showed that micronucleus rate of Vicia faba increased with DEHP concentrations. The random amplified polymorphic DNA profiles showed obvious differences between normal and exposed plantlets, indicating a does-effect relationship. These results suggested that DEHP could induce the acute oxidative damage and genotoxic effects in growth of seedling of Vicia faba.
