Pretreatment of wastewater contained DMF by combined aerobic Fe-C micro-electrolysis and plural three-dimensional electrodes ozidation process
Membrane-making wastewater contains DMF, with high COD, toxicity and non-biodegradability. In this work, aerobic Fe-C micro-electrolysis and three-dimensional electrodes technology were applied for the pretreatment aiming to improve the biodegradability of the wastewater. It was found that the optional pretreatment conditions were pH 3 for Fe-C micro-electrolysis and pH 5 for the three -dimensional electrodes oxidation. As a result, the B/C increased to 0.38 from below 0.2, and the COD removal reached 99% by the combined process of pretreatment and biological contact reactor in a three-month test, and the effluent DMF concentration was below 10 mg/L.
