Ecohydrodynamic Modelling of Dissolved Organic Carbon Cycle
A two-dimensional coupled hydrodynamic-ecosystem model is developed to simulate biological processes in Bohai Bay. The biological sub-model describes the carbon cycles through the microbial loop with eight state variables: phytoplankton, zooplankton, bacterioplankton, pelagic detritus, dissolved organic carbon, dissolved organic nitrogen, ammonium and nitrate. In this paper, the seasonal changes of phytoplanktons and bacterioplanktons biomass were investigated using the model, and the simulated values were similar to the measured values. The results of this model also show that the ecohydrodynamic model is adaptive to the water layer of Bohai Bay.
