Effect of papermaking wastewater irrigation on growth of reed in saline-alkalie wetland
Biomass distribution, morphological and growth characteristics of reeds under different irrigation modes were studied, provided secondary effluent from papermaking wastewater as the irrigation water. The results showed that irrigation with wastewater can promote reed growth and postpone the total biomass peak, and plant height, total biomass were both prominently higher than control group. Under wastewater irrigation, biomass flew into supporting structure more and thus leaves were big and thin. There were no markedly difference between continuous irrigation mode and intermittent irrigation mode, however, the latter was in favor of recovery of biodiversity.
