An Improvement to Decrease the Effect of Handset Internal Components on a Dual Band PIFA Performance
This paper presents a dual band planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) which has been designed to get less effect of handset internal components than previous ones in 900 and 1800 MHz. The applied technique based on decreasing the space between radiation plane and ground plane in some parts of the antenna. Two shapes of a handset ground plane, as well as the antenna alone are examined. VSWR and radiation pattern of the antenna has been computed, and compared in each case. All numerical simulations are performed using the Ansoft HFSS software.
